JTA Supermarket is a Magna Merchant with their own Loyalty JTA card, however customers are allowed to use either their Magna or JTA card to earn rewards at their supermarket locations. The JTA card number can be accessed via BRiK and it begins with the sequence 252525079……. All JTA cards are co-branded Magna cards and will therefore earn Magna Rewards points as described in Eg2 below.
The customer’s JTA/Magna account should be pooled with their existing Magna rewards card (if the customer has a Magna rewards card). When the accounts are pooled*, both accounts would reflect the same (shared) points balance. The customer can swipe either their JTA card or Magna card at JTA to earn and redeem their points.
It is important to note that when earning Magna points at JTA, should the customer swipe their Magna rewards card for the purchase (because they do not have a JTA card), he will only receive 0.5% points on his Magna account, however if the customer swipes their JTA rewards card at JTA, they will receive 0.5% of the points on their Magna account and the other 0.5% of points go to their JTA loyalty account.
E.g.1, Customer swipes their Magna card at JTA Supermarket.
Spent $20= 1 Magna point.
Spent $100= 5 Magna points.
E.g.2, Customer swipes their JTA card at JTA Supermarket
Spent $20= 1 Magna point and 1 JTA point
Spent $100= 5 Magna points and 5 JTA points
*The pooling of a JTA card to a Magna can only be done by the supervisor.
Additional information-
To Earn Points-
- Transactions done at JTA are classified as EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) and are sent to Magna weekly to be uploaded to the database.
- Customers can use their JTA Magna thank you cards at the checkout point at JTA to earn both JTA and Magna points (this is via JTA’S terminal). JTA points earned will be recorded on the customer’s receipt; however, Magna points are not recorded on the receipt. Customers will only see these Magna points on their accounts after JTA uploads their transaction file, which is done weekly.
- If the customer does not have a JTA Magna card but possesses a Standard or Gold Magna card, they can swipe it at the JTA checkout (this is via JTA’S terminal) to earn Magna points. Similar to the above, customers will only see these Magna points on their accounts after JTA uploads their transaction file, which is done weekly.
- Any JTA sale transaction exceeding the threshold of $3,000, will be submitted back to JTA for verification and approval before it is posted to the customer’s account. This process may delay the appearance of the transaction in the customer’s Magna account.
- Customers with more than three swipes in any given week at JTA will be classified as engaging in “multi-card transactions.” These transactions must also be verified and approved by JTA before being posted to the customer’s account.
