Magna TT Merchant JTA Supermarket- How do Magna and JTA work?

Agent: JTA supermarket is a Magna merchant that also offers its own loyalty card. The JTA cards are co-branded Magna cards, meaning you can use your JTA card to earn Magna points.

You can earn points at JTA by swiping either your Magna or JTA card. However, it is more beneficial to swipe your JTA loyalty card for your purchase, as you will earn 1 point (0.5% rebate) on your Magna account and 1 point (0.5% rebate) will go towards your JTA loyalty card from every $20 spent.

If you choose to swipe your Magna rewards card at JTA, you will earn only 1 Magna point for every $20 spent.


 If a customer requests to pool their JTA and Magna rewards accounts, and after completing full KYC for both accounts:

Agent: Once your JTA and Magna accounts are pooled together, both accounts will reflect the same shared points balance.

How to Redeem at JTA:

Agent: If you want to redeem your Magna points at JTA you can use either card at the cashier’s station when checking out, as your JTA and Magna accounts are linked.


Magna TT & JA Merchant- Scotiabank- How do Magna and Scotiabank work?

Agent: As a Scotia Magna Mastercard cardholder, you will earn Magna points on every purchase made using your Scotiabank Magna Mastercard. This includes local, international and online purchases.

You can also earn double points by using your Scotia Magna Mastercard and presenting your Magna rewards card at any Magna merchant at the time of purchase. This is referred to as "Double Dipping."

 

How are Magna points calculated for TT? 

E.g.- If you make a local purchase valued at $100, you will earn 1 Magna point for every $10 spent. If the merchant you are shopping at is also a Magna merchant, you can also swipe your Magna card to earn an additional 1 point for every $10 spent based on the customer’s rebate rate to swipe the Magna card, the transaction must be valued at $20 and above.

For an online or international purchase, you will earn 1 Magna point for every $20 spent.

How are points calculated for JA? 

E.g.- If you make a local purchase valued at $200, you will earn 1 Magna point for every $200 spent. If the merchant you are shopping at is also a Magna merchant, you can also swipe your Magna card to earn an additional 1 point for every $200 spent, based on the customer rebate rate. To swipe the Magna card, the transaction must be valued at $200 and above.

For an online or international purchase, you will earn 1 Magna point for every $400 spent.

How to redeem Scotia points earned?

Agent: These reward points can be redeemed at any participating Magna Merchant by providing your Magna rewards card when checking out at the cashier’s station.

 

What is Magna Reward and How Does the Magna Program Work?

What is Magna Rewards: Magna Rewards is a loyalty program that allows you to save money by earning points from your purchases at any Magna merchant. These points can then be redeemed for goods and services at any participating Magna merchant nationwide.

To Accumulate: Whenever you make a purchase at one of our participating merchants valued at $20.00 and over (for TT) & $200.00 and over (for JA), you can swipe your Magna rewards card when checking out at the cashier to earn Magna rewards points.

To Redeem Instantly: To redeem points from your Magna account, you will need to present your Magna card along with a valid form of I.D. to the cashier. Inform the cashier that you would like to redeem your points and the cashier will then swipe your card to process the redemption. You can choose to redeem any amount from your accumulated points.

Customers who are in voucher status (this does not apply to new customers): To redeem a Magna Rewards voucher, present the voucher and a valid form of ID to the cashier during checkout. The cashier will then apply the voucher to your purchase.

How do you calculate TT customers' points for accumulation and redemption?

Accumulation of Points

Agent: You must spend a minimum of $20 on your purchase to earn Magna points. The merchant awards points based on the rebate rate which in most cases is 1%. 

E.g., If you spend $20 at a merchant with a 1% rebate rate you will receive 2 Magna points for your purchase.

Redemption of Points

Agent: To calculate the redemption value of these 2 points from your account, you simply divide the number of points by 10 to get the redemption value. Therefore 2 points is equivalent to TT$0.20.

How do you calculate JA customers' points for accumulation and redemption?

Accumulation of Points

Agent: You must spend a minimum of $200 on your purchase to earn Magna points. The merchant awards points based on the rebate rate which in most cases is 1%. 

E.g., If you spend $200 at a merchant with a 1% rebate rate you will receive 1 Magna point for your purchase.

Redemption of Points

Agent: To calculate the redemption value for the 1 point from your account, you simply multiply the number of points by 2 to get the redemption value. Therefore 1 point is equivalent to TT$2.00.

How to Redeem?

How do you sign up for New or Replacement Card for Jamaica?

Agent: Thank you for your interest in our Magna rewards card.

Due to the Data Protection Act, customers must agree to our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice before receiving the Magna Rewards card. 

As a result, you can sign up for a card via the following options: 

  1. Magna app or website. The website is www.magarewards.com
  2. Via a Magna merchant by completing an application (The list of Magna merchants with the updated forms can be located on Magna Freshdesk-> Solutions-> Merchant List and Threshold TT/JA-> JA Merchants with Application Forms).
  3. By visiting our office at #9 Molynes Rd, Kingston 10.

Agent: I can help guide you in completing your online application.

Are you able to log on to our website or the Mobile app while I have you on the line?

 

If Yes: 

 

Agent: Ok that’s great! Choose your region, and select “New Magna? Sign Up”. Then fill in your Full Name, Address, phone number and click the box to agree to the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Once you have filled out the information, click “Sign Up”. 

 

If the customer inquires about receiving the physical card:

 

Agent: Once the card is processed, one of our agents will contact you to confirm your choice of delivery to receive the card. This is either via mail or collection at the office.  

 

If the customer asks why they are unable to sign up over the phone: 

 

Agent: “For data safety and security, it is our priority to protect our customers’ information, therefore signing up via our website, at a Magna merchant or our office is the safest and most secure medium to sign up successfully for a Magna Rewards card.  

 

 

Magna Points Expiration


Agent: If there is no activity on your Magna account, meaning no accumulations or redemptions for a continuous period of 6 months, any points you earned that are older than one year will automatically expire.

Therefore, it’s important to keep track of your account activity to ensure that you don’t lose any of your points. If you are approaching the 6 months mark, consider shopping at a Magna merchant and using your Magna card to either redeem or earn points. 

 

Note: Use this opportunity to enquire if the customer utilizes the Magna app or website. If they do not, provide them with the relevant information and steps for the app/website.

If they are not interested in the Magna app or website, advise the customer they can contact us to check their account balance and last transaction date.
